Week 5 First week in the field

HELLO HELLO EVERYONE. This week has been full of change and it's been so fun. I said goodbye to my district at the MTC and then headed off the San Diego. Me and sister wilkin traveled together and then said goodbye after we met our trainers. It was the first time in 4 weeks that we have left each other's side.

My new comp/trainer is amazing. Sister Matsushita is from Japan and graduated from byu with some math degree. She super sweet and so amazing. She has taught me so much already.

When walking to our apartment we met a guy name Wesley who goes to school here and he asked us if he can learn more. I was barely 3hour into San Diego and we already made a friend.

Me and sister Matsushita are whitewashing the area. That means  neither of us have any information on the members or friends being taught. So we have been getting to know the members and our friends. We have one friend, Nina, who is getting baptized in july.  I think it's funny cause I hear a lot that I'll be doing more sowing than reaping but it seems pretty even right now.

13 families in our ward are moving out because of military stuff so it's gonna be hard to make good member to friend relationships.

I've noticed that I've been more confident that I usually am and I was telling sister Matsushita that. She said that we have 2 kinds of confidence. Confidence in Christ and confidence in yourself/pride. Only one is a good kind. We all need to have confidence in Christ because through him we can do all things. What kind of confidence do you have?

One thing that I thought would change while I was on my mission was feeling the prompting of the Holy Spirit. I thought I would be able to hear him whisper to me bit that's not the case. I still have to strive to know what he telling me. HOW DO YOU FEEL THE HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR LIFE AND HOW ARE YOU STREGTHING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM?
Helaman 5:30 is a great verse to read about the Holy Ghost.

Love you all and have a blessed week!!!
Sister Wait

Ps. My comp told me I was talking in my sleep last night and started planning our day, she said that I said that we needed to take a bold approach and knock on our friends door and not send her a text.

4th Week at the MTC

I CAN'T BELIEVE I LEAVE THIS WEEK FOR SAN DIEGO!!!!!

the mtc has been a blast and my comp, sister wilkin, is so amazing. I am so glad that we'll be going to san diego together.

this past week we went to the payson temple again and we will go to the provo city center temple today. I love going to the temple and can feel the holy ghost there so much. if yall have ur recommend go as much as you can, and if u dont have a recommend, work to get one, the blessings are there and God wants to bless you.

my district has been into playing a game called signs where you secretly pass a sign to someone. its like passing an invisible ball. and we started to play in class when our teacher turned around and he heard us giggling and said yall better not be playing that game.

my district has also been trying to play volleyball as much as possible and i feel that i have gotten so much better. we all like playing sand volleyball the most but sometimes we cant make it to the field so we have to settle with the court. one of the sisters was a team captain and she picked all of the worst players, me included, and then in the middle of the game as we are losing she says lets reevaluate teams. but then we won the game so apparently skill and knowledge of volleyball does not guarantee a win.

i know that jesus loves you all and when you turn to god in prayer they will comfort you. Jeuse gave us his life so that we may be forgiven and feel joy. seek out how you see the lords hand in you life each day and report back to me!!!!

love you all and have a blessed week

some week in the MTC

HEY Y'ALL. I am now an official missionary of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints!!!!

I am starting my 3ed week in the mtc and I am in person. Last week I left Charlotte saying goodbye to my mom, dad, and younger brother Samuel to prove where 2 of my friends picked me up from the airport and drove me to daniels apartment. I knew I would see Daniel and Olivia and I walked into their apartment and SURPRISE kaylea was also there. I was able to say goodbye to kylea one more time. I stayed the night with my friend Jane. Wednesday morning Olivia and kaylea picked me up from Jane's and we went to the orem temple.

We met up with daniel at canes to eat before they dropped me off at the mtc(missionary training center) . This is where we learn how to teach different types of people. I was finally able to meet my district (the group of missionaries that have the same start date as me and who I have classes with) in person and they are so amazing. We get along really well and I think we anoy our teacher to death. I am learning so much here and the more I read in the Book of Mormon and learn about God the more I want to learn and grow closer to him.

We were able to go to the temple a couple times and I love going there. I know that the temple is the house of the Lord and I can feel his spirit there.

My companion is amazing and always has such a fun story to share. She has such a strong testimony and loves the gospel. Sister Wilkin is from Peachtree City, Georgia and is going to also serve in San Diego. I am so excited to go to San Diego.

I love reading the Book of Mormon and encourage everyone to commit to Moroni's promise. moroni 10:3-5. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bofm/moro/10?lang=eng&id=p3-p5#p3
