Scott had the bright idea to race us from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to the North Rim. While Scott braved the 100 degree heat in the box, The kids and I were able to sit comfy, eat whatever, stay cool, and stop wherever we wanted.
He started at 12:00pm.
There are many amazing views from the different lookouts and driving around is breathtaking in and of itself! We stopped at Lee's Ferry to walk across the first bridge, on left, that was built over the canyon to make it easier for travelers driving from Utah to Arizona. Because it was replaced with the one on the right... it is now a foot path for the best views of the Colorado River. Because I am so scared of heights, I wouldn't let my kids walk all the way across... SUCH a poor sport, I know.
Cliff Dwellers
The last view heading up to the North Rim.
We made it to the North Rim at 5:40pm and the kids ran down the trail to meet Scott on his accent. Yeah, we won! But he wasn't far behind meeting us at the top at 6:00pm. Way to go! A personal record.
After spending the night at the North Rim, the kids hiked a few trails.
