RiM to RiM

I don't even know where to begin.... the hike from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to the north Rim of the Grand Canyon was one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had. Each year The Barrow (the neurosurgery guys) hike the rim to rim in one day which is about 23 miles long. There are around 120 people that participate in the hike. This was Scott's third time going on the hike and he said that he would "walk" with me. (He ran it the previous two years!) The views were breath taking, the hike was grueling, but coming out on the North Rim was exhilarating!!! Of course words can never describe the entire experience. I loved it and can't wait to do it again next year. Three of our friends went with us... Keith Wilson, his sister Carrie, and Paul Nielson. Next year we would love you to come with us!!!Scott lead most of the way to keep us on a fast pace! There are a lot of switch backs on the South Kaibab Trail. Scott is first down below looking up.

If you look closely you can see a beautiful waterfall that was coming out the side of the mountain. I am trying to eat some gummy salt squares! It took forever to get them down! YuK!

Removing the sTiTcHeS

Kaylea was really brave when Scott removed the stitches from Kaylea's eyebrow. She was a real trooper! I hope it is awhile before we see the ED again!!

Poetry Night

Daniel submitted a poem to be published in the school Rhythms and Rhymes book. It is a collection of poems written and illustrated by students.

He read it during the evening of the Celebration of the Arts. He was a little nervous but did a wonderful job and we were very proud of him.

What a fun DAY!

What do we do with out our Grandma and Grandpa? The time flies by when they come to visit and hang out... we are always sad to see them go. the girls just love it when GrAnDmA styles their hair... oh, so many fun ways to play!

Scott and I went to hike the Grand Canyon and we left the kids at home but they felt like they were on vacation too, with grandpa! They went everywhere, did everything, and played the entire time. RELaXED,

And wondered... are we EVEr going to REsT? Every good thing must come to an end...

Preschool Graduation

Kaylea and Claudia graduated from preschool on May 16th 2008. Miss Michelle taught Daniel, Kaylea and Claudia. She was an amazing teacher but decided after 15 years teaching preschool it was time to move on...

The kids sang songs, recited poems, and sounded out their phonic blends. They were all so cute and did an amazing job.
Thanks Miss Michelle for 4 wonderful years! My kids will miss you bunches!

Kids with Grandparents Rudisill

My DaD was a great sport when I asked him to take pictures with the kids. The kids had a ball and of course GrAnDmA cannot wait to put these up on the wall in her house! They all turned out really well. Samuel was expected to be a little difficult BUT Claudia was the most challenging of them all.

Kaylea's StItChEs

Kaylea decided to add some excitement to an evening that I had planned to be relaxing while hanging out with my friends. I was giving a baby shower for my friend Vanessa... everything was going smoothly until I went to tuck Kaylea and Daniel into bed and that is when Kaylea wanted to be silly. She was standing at the foot of her bed and dove for the pillows but missed. She landed on the headboard... hitting above the top left eyebrow and made a cut to the bone. It's a good thing that I had some neurosurgeon friends and wives there. They took care of everything... calling Scott (he was at young men), making a plan, and keeping Kaylea calm. I just sat back and held Kaylea. About three hours later, Scott was home from the hospital with Kaylea where he sowed her up! He said she was a trooper and did wonderful. I am so grateful that I didn't have to worry about anything. Kaylea was excited to tell EvErYoNe about her stitches... She wore her designer hospital bracelet for two weeks, (until Scott made her take it off)! And yes, we did get a doctors bill from the hospital... which that doctor never even saw her.
