jacque's shower
This picture was taken after almost everyone left the shower... but congrats Jacque! WE are so excited for you.
baby bird
Samuel discovered a baby bird in our backyard that we later learned had fallen out of a nest. He chased it around the yard, trying to catch it, and the frightened bird fell into the girls window well. After making several attempts of catching it myself... I called my neighbor Mr. Tom, who loves animals, and immediately came to the rescue.
He called me later telling me how he was taking care of the baby bird and asked if the kids wanted to come over to watch him feed the bird. Of course anytime my kids are invited over to his home... they count down the minutes until they can go over. There are many reasons why my kids love to be with him... he's patient, loving, kind, and teaches them about all sorts of stuff. So when we arrived, I shouldn't have been surprised to see a book about birds opened on the table telling all about the dove that he was helping grow.We have all learned so much from Mr. Tom and Ms. Barb... they are true treasures and the best neighbors.
After several weeks in Mr. Tom's care... the baby bird eventually learned to fly. I really think we have seen it back in our yard eating the crumbs from under the picnic tables. Too funny...

poetry cafe
Daniel read one of the many poems that he wrote this year in third grade during his class Poetry Cafe.
"Turtles"
Turtles
Slow and hiding
Creeping to their dinner
Peeping out of their tiny shells

meeting the sisters...
Our best activity day yet!
The girls were able to interview some of the sisters in our ward and learn more about where they grew up, how many children they have, what are their strengths, and about their greatest accomplishments.
I am so grateful for the sisters in our ward to teach us so much about life and the best way to live it.

kaylea's poetry reading
Kaylea had an amazing year in Mrs. Brown class. Not only did she learn the essientials of reading, writing, and math... but also, patience, caring, and thinking of others. Mrs. Brown truely loves her students and teaches them so much of the things that they will need in the world to survive. She is the best!
