Speed Goat 50K

Scott's 50K run... The run took place at Snowbird Mountain. Straight up, then down, then up again, and then back down. A grueling race! It was great to have so many family and friends come out for the event.

The kids and I took the fast way to the top in the tram. I did well considering I'm totally afraid of heights... totally worth it though!

We met Scott at the top... he was tired! But after some food, some cheers, some hugs and lots of kisses... he kept on going! (yes, that is snow that you see in the pictures!)

Scott's cheering section consisted of his brother Kendric's family and the Maughans. Scott was excited to see them all there! Daniel ran the last quarter mile with him.

Toy Story 3

I can't believe I cried at this movie... it was a cartoon! Toy Story 3... come on, this movie is about toys! I mean not just crying... but sobbing at the end. What is wrong with me? Sending my kids off to college is but YEArS away, why am I crying at the thought of that now? AND leaving behind all their toys! How sad is that? How sad am I?

I love my kids this age and don't want them to grow up! but it is inevitable... it will happen! I want time to slow down... How do I make that happen?

The kids loved the movie, but in a different way than I did.. lots of treats, popcorn, and Capri suns. And then ice cream! It did take my mind off of being sad... especially when Samuel dropped his ice cream on the floor. I quickly snapped back to reality of having a 4 year old instead of 18 year old.

trying to be like MacGyver

Do you remember the episode on MacGyver where he has to send out a signal while trapped inside a prison? He uses a "hot air balloon" that he made from paper mache, wire hanger, and a piece of material. Unbeknownst to us... Daniel came up with his version of MacGyver's hot air balloon, using materials that were located around the house. But instead of material, he used a cotton ball.

Uncle Brooks had great patience with Daniel and told him that they could try it out. Well, of course it is never as easy as it looks in the movies. It was a great try even though it didn't work. The wire hanger made it a bit too heavy and there wasn't enough "hot air" to make it rise.

Great thinking Daniel and keep at it... someday your experiments will work.

After the failed experiment... Camille suggested the sparklers. And, YES, they worked great!

There were lots of happy smiles.

Field Trip to Hill Airforce Base

Uncle Brooks works at Hill Airforce Base. He was able to give us a tour and show us the many jets that they have there. The kids were fascinated and asked lots of great questions. Especially Daniel.

We then drove over to the splash playground where we met up with my friend Tiffany and her kiddos.

Another perfect day!
